Our research topic is “Taiwan Badminton History Trail”. We have seen a lot of badminton players shine on the international stage in the Olympics, representing Taiwan. I really adore these athletes who work really hard, bring glory to our country, and shine in competition. I personally have some experience with badminton. After watching these badminton players perform amazingly in the Olympics, badminton became a topic of discussion and also got popular in Taiwan. And because of this, it made me even more interested and curious about Taiwan’s badminton and its history. I hope through this project, by working and discussing together with my teammates, I can know better and understand more about Taiwan’s badminton. I also want to know what made them start playing badminton or become interested in it, how they face problems and challenges, how they improve their skills and achieve success.

This is my first time participating in the CyberFair, and this project has been a new experience for me. I didn’t get to approach badminton much because of the compressing environment of school. Using this opportunity, my teammates and I decided to research the development of badminton because we were inspired by the outstanding achievements of Taiwan’s badminton players in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Badminton has become a recent topic of discussion. When we looked into Taiwan Badminton History Trail, we interviewed players and realized that becoming an international athlete is not an easy task. It is also worth discussing the future development trends of badminton in Taiwan. If we could achieve a grasp of those characteristics that make those Olympic athletes successful, we would absolutely understand how much it takes to be one.

I also enjoy badminton as a sport, and I’m very excited to have worked with my teammates on the badminton report. Seeing the performance of Taiwanese players, I greatly admire the effort that athletes put in behind the scenes. I hope to continue following badminton in the future, and just like them, I aim to bravely pursue excellence in the field I love.

I observe badminton athletes shine in the Olympics. Badminton also became a popular sport for everyone. I decided to investigate their motivation towards this sport and the foundation of it. My teammates and I want to investigate those who once had won in the Olympics. We would like to know what made them so good, and what made them persistently participate in the competition. For me, badminton is fun but sometimes hard because it not only requires skill but also persistence as a necessity. I am a badminton ameteur, I start learning badminton when I was fifth grade, at first it was so hard to learn the basic moves that a badminton rookie should master at the first place,it was harsh for me, because it meant 2 hours of training and you don’t get to play, that situation stopped until I entered sixth grade, I began mastering the moves easily and start to manage to fight back, so I have resonance about how hard this training and how much time it really needs to be a true professional. Those athletes must have gone through multiple years, even decades of hard work and harsh training. I’m actually curious about what makes them try so hard to achieve the championship, is it because of money or because of fame, or neither, just for fun and achievement and for satisfaction. In conclusion, badminton is a sport that really takes away most of your time if you want to achieve a grasp of the skills of badminton.

In my in-depth exploration of the development of badminton in Taiwan, I have cultivated a significant understanding of badminton and its implications globally. To have grown from relative obscurity to the sport’s pinnacle on an international scale, the development of badminton in Taiwan has faced numerous challenges and successes developing badminton extensively in Taiwan. Success in badminton has emerged in many dimensions and developments including some key considerations that helped develop an overall growth in support for badminton. Those supporting factors, among others, are government involvement, public participation, developing great coaches, and advocating scientific-based training in badminton.

I have also found that the growth of badminton in Taiwan is closely connected to social changes, and growing awareness of improved health through physical activity, and badminton exemplifies social cohesion related to many Taiwanese historical implications in its values of hard work and thrift. I also learned that Taiwan’s growth in badminton is connected to the influences of unique talent development models and their usage of scientific techniques to advance training.

As badminton continues to evolve, Taiwan is faced with additional challenges. Maintaining the power and competitiveness of badminton within a global environment. The issue of sustaining excellence in badminton, with or without government assistance, is worthy of attention and will, in fact, be a matter of urgency over time. Taiwan’s success in the future will be associated with whether they continue to invest in youth development programs, training facilities, and opportunities for developing athletes. Taiwan will obviously need to navigate important challenges and issues to maintain growth and sustain and continue to be a global leader in badminton. Taiwan can indeed reinforce a position as a badminton powerhouse and produce even more future generations of athletes if it chooses to proactively tackle significant issues and challenges.

There are many athletes in Taiwan who rely on perseverance to win glory for Taiwan, and there are many outstanding achievements in badminton competitions. Therefore, we have taken “Taiwan’s Badminton History” as our research theme. When it comes to sports competitions, the first thing that comes to mind is the Olympic Games, which is a major international competition. The last two Olympic Games, namely the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the Paris 2024 Olympics, the most concerning event in Taiwan is badminton! I adore the athletes who shine on the international stage and bring glory to Taiwan! I hope that through the in-depth study of this topic, we can better understand the history of badminton in Taiwan and the knowledge of badminton. Not only that, but we were also able to learn about the heroic stories behind those outstanding badminton players, as well as the difficulties they experienced and how they dealt with them.

The theme we have chosen for Cyber Fair this time is about badminton, and the development of this sport in Taiwan has a fascinating history. Taiwan has many world-class badminton players, such as the well-known Tai Tzu-ying, Chou Tien-chen, and Lee Yang, who have not only gained fame in Taiwan but also achieved remarkable results in international d competitions. Especially at this year’s French Olympics, Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin, the men’soubles pair, once again won the gold medal, achieving back-to-back Olympic victories, making the whole of Taiwan incredibly proud. Badminton, as one of Taiwan’s strong sports, has been flourishing over the years. But when did it really start to grow, and which outstanding players have made their mark on the world stage? To gain a deeper understanding of the history and development of badminton in Taiwan, we have decided to focus on “The History of Badminton in Taiwan” as our research theme this time. Through this historical exploration, we hope to see clearly how badminton in Taiwan has grown from a relatively unnoticed sport into an international powerhouse that we are very proud of today. And we hope that we can learn more about badminton from Taiwan’s outstanding players.
